On this page you will find information issued by The FA and full details on the RESPECT Programme.
Every child had the right to enjoy our national sport in a fun, safe environment. But sadly, over-enthusiastic parents/carers can often create an atmosphere where a child is fearful of making mistakes. This often means they turn their back on football – and the vital healthy lifestyle it cultivates at an early age. Of course, all parents/carers have a right to expect respect, but so do children. The overall objective of The FA’s Respect programme is to improve behaviour standards across football. This includes the way parents/carers and spectators behave when watching their children from the sidelines – and how they should encourage them before and after matches.
To help, The FA has produced an online guide for parents/carers & spectators. To see the guide visit TheFA.com/Respect
We kindly ask all parents/carers & spectators to spare 5 minutes to view the FA RESPECT Video - visit www.thefa.com/respectguide (You can watch the video without logging in or registering as a member!) Please watch the clip before signing the FA Respect Forms issued by your Manager.
Just recently the FA have banned players wearing snoods. Here is an abstract from the letter in which the leagues have been sent from The FA on this issue:
Snoods (Neck Scarves) The International Football Association Board held their Annual meeting at the Celtic Manor Hotel in Newport, Wales on Saturday 5th March. At that meeting it was decided that Snoods (Neck Scarves) that some players wear could constitute a danger to themselves if an opponent pulled them and were not part of the Basic Equipment as outlined under Law 4 - Players Equipment.
Therefore, with immediate effect players are not allowed to wear these garments and I would ask you to inform your management/playing staff of this decision.
Therefore, with immediate effect, no player will be allowed to wear a snood whilst playing in a match for our Club.
